Can build a VM image, still not 100%

Download the Virtual Buddy beta

Install macOS 27 guests in macOS 26 hosts
This build includes a new macOS virtual machine installation mechanism that works around the Virtualization bugs that are preventing macOS 27 virtual machines from being installed successfully in macOS 26 hosts.

Download here: 2.2 Beta 2

Once downloaded and installed, you can now create macOS 27 VMs on your device. The fix is by using a different restore method then the default one. I couldn’t get macOS 26 VMs working, I would get the same error as before until I ran the following command:

defaults write codes.rambo.VirtualBuddy VBForceVirtualInstallationBackend -bool YES

This forces VirtualBuddy to always use this new mechanism for installing macOS.

Now I have no issues! Hope this helps

Next task is to figure out what I will replace tart with since Cirrus Labs has been bought by openAI and they have basically said they will stop working on tart… hope the community steps up but we will see!
